Deformed
High Tensile Bars
Deformed
High Tensile (DHT) steel rebars (reinforcing bars) are used primarily
for concrete reinforcement in construction. Caribbean Steel Mills'
rebars are formed by a hot-rolling process which eliminates the need for
further straightening of the finished product. This results in 'blue
steel' that will not rust as readily as the 'straightened and cut'
material.
The
ribs of the bar increase the strength of the bond between the steel and
the concrete, and this is particularly important in areas prone to earth
movements and high wind load.
Each
bar is clearly identified with either TRINIDAD or CSM rolled on to the
surface indicating the diameter and the grade according to the ASTM or
BS standards.
